Located in Honesdale, Pennsylvania since 1977, in the northeastern North Pocono region, The Alpine Wurst & Meat House has been a premier manufacturer of German sausages, frankfurters, smoked hams, Kassler Rippchen, cold cuts and meats for over forty-four years. Also carrying a large selection of imported dry goods, we are sure to satisfy all your German cravings. Here at The Alpine, our meats are made the old fashioned way, with Old Country flavor and style. Our three on-site smokehouses assure you the best authentic smoky flavor, while providing the best quality sausages produced with the utmost care and attention.
The Alpine Restaurant
Along with our deli and butcher shop, The Alpine Restaurant is located right next door. Every year thousands indulge on our homemade German‐American cuisine. Most meals in the restaurant feature our homemade items, also available for sale in the deli and butcher departments.

Oktoberfest
Our annual Oktoberfest is held every August outside under "The Big Tent". Known as the largest in the Poconos, we have seating for over 1,000 people! The 3 day event is a much anticipated celebration and we have people traveling many miles to enjoy the festival. Live music, a tremendous dance floor, great food and lots of beer make it an unforgettable event year after year. Put on your dirndl dresses and lederhosen and join the festivities.
The Eiferts
All recipes have been handed down from father-to-son making this a true family business. Mark Eifert, President of The Alpine Wurst & Meat House, grew up in the business working alongside his parents, Klaus and Ingrid Eifert.
Following graduation, Mark traveled to Germany to learn firsthand the tools of the trade. In keeping with his father's traditions he still makes things the old German way. He and his wife, Gretchen work to maintain product quality for the their customers.

We have made modern improvements to the manufacturing process by using HPP. Instead of using artificial preservatives and chemical shelf-life extenders, we take our sausages directly to Connecticut to be High Pressure Processed (HPP). Our sausages are put in a tank that implodes cold water pressure of 87,000 psi on them resulting in a clean, natural label. This process stops and kills the growth of any pathogens or bacteria and dramatically extends the shelf life of our products.
